
Mike Gavin is a producer and sound engineer with a career spanning studio production, live sound, and performance. He has worked and studied alongside renowned artists and producers, including Noel Hogan, Efrim Menuck, Tom Lord-Alge, and Tony Hoffer. As a live sound engineer, he has mixed performances for influential musicians such as Grant Hart (of Hüsker Dü) and Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth).
As a musician, studio producer, and live sound engineer, Mike has toured extensively throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America. From 2010 to 2022, he was a member of the Choice Music Prize-nominated band windings, performing and recording across these regions.
In addition to his work in the industry, Mike is a Lecturer in Music Production & Technology at the Technological University of the Shannon, where he teaches the next generation of producers and engineers. While teaching is his primary focus, he remains involved in both studio and live music whenever possible. Though not currently seeking new projects, he is always open to conversations about music and potential collaborations.
